Case – Hersbruck

Handmade metal cigarette case with hinged opening mechanism. «Hersbruck», «1945» and «Germany» are engraved on the front, below a plaque in the form of a coat of arms with the initials «AHA». A photo frame with the inscription «from Walt to Art» is attached to the back.

During World War II, Hersbruck was the location of a concentration camp, known as Hersbruck-Massivhaus. The camp was liberated by the 261st Infantry Regiment of the 65th Infantry Division in April 1945, and its existence serves as a somber reminder of the atrocities committed during the Holocaust.
