Repair Box

Original WWII repair set consisting of a 1942 Zippo with matching repair packaging. The Zippo features engraved initials «G.F.B.» and shows a period hinge repair, converted from the early 4-barrel to the later 3-barrel configuration, as commonly performed by Zippo during wartime service.

The outer repair box is personalized with the original mailing label addressed to «Brown, 524 Wood St., Johnstown, PA.», matching the engraved initials on the lighter and reflecting the return of the serviced piece through the Zippo repair system. The parcel is postmarked «AUG 18 44», further confirming its wartime use. Accompanying the lighter is the correct inner box, identical in appearance to standard WWII issue boxes with the black crackle Zippo illustration on the front, but distinguished by the rare repair notice printed on the reverse.
