Black crackle Zippo engraved with the initials «H.A.W. JR.», belonging to Herbert A. Wisbey, Jr. I kindly received the other personal items from his family as a memento.
Herbert A. Wisbey, Jr. was drafted as an Army clerk and spent his first months processing other soldiers for overseas deployment. He later went to England and crossed Utah Beach about a month after D-Day. In September 1944, he joined the 7th Armored Division as a historian assigned to Division Headquarters, where he remained until the end of the war, writing press releases, after-action reports, and other official documents.
