U.S. Navy – Operation Torch

U.S. naval forces played a central role in Operation Torch, the Allied invasion of North Africa in November 1942 and the first large-scale American amphibious operation of WWII. Naval units were responsible for transporting invasion forces, escorting convoys, providing fire support, and securing ports along the Moroccan and Algerian coasts.


Nickel plated Zippo engraved «NORTH AFRICA / NOVEMBER 11–19 42 / 1943–1944 / 1945». The reverse features an applied insignia in the form of crossed fouled anchors, and the top of the lid is engraved with a circled «X».
